Children’s Ballet

At the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh, children are our specialty!

Our focus is providing the highest-quality classical ballet training in a creative and caring environment for children ages 18 months - 8 years. Beginning with Mommy & Me Ballet (ages 18 months - 3), and continuing through to Children’s Ballet 4 (ages 6-8), our Children’s Division (once-a-week) classes strive to teach children the fundamentals of the classical ballet vocabulary.

Introducing children to the beauty and artistry of classical ballet can have a lasting impact, and we hope they gain a greater appreciation of the arts as a result. Classical ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance, and the discipline learned in the ballet studio can be applied to the academic classroom and beyond.

Performing opportunities for our Children’s Ballet students include our annual Nutcracker performances in December, and our Spring Gala performances in April/May. Participation is optional, with rehearsals taking place on the weekends - never during class time. All costumes are provided and maintained by the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh (no additional costume fees).

We provide the best option for an introduction to classical ballet in the greater-Pittsburgh area. Our small class sizes and caring teachers help to ensure a structured learning environment and we take great care in providing each child a positive learning experience. We invite you and your child to come and observe or try a class today!
